Spiritual Self-Care

Now most of us acknowledge the importance of self-care for our physical and mental health, but what about our spiritual health?

Here are some of our personal favourites…

Meditation

Many will fall back on “I don’t know how to meditate” or “I don’t have time to meditate”… (I used to be one of them…) But the truth is, meditation is for everyone. I can guarantee if we all checked the screen time on our phones, we’d see that maybe time isn’t the issue..  And while technology has it’s downsides in often taking up time that could be better spent in other areas of our life, one of the upsides is, there’s an app for … everything! Including meditation. You have limitless choices for guided meditation apps, from as little as a few minutes. Just a few minutes could completely change your day, your week, your life. Meditation allows us to slow down our cognitive mind, switch off from the general day-to-day, and tap into our intuition, to listen to what our soul wants, what it needs, to breath, to ground us and to raise our vibration. There’s not a lot that can replenish our soul the way meditation does in such a short time, so if it isn’t already apart of your daily routine, make no more excuses, it’s time to give it a go!

Cleansing your space

Our spaces may differ in look or feel, but the common goal is to think bigger picture about creating the ideal space, for the best version of ourselves. Who do you want to be, how do you want to feel in your space, and what does that look like for you? Whether it’s decluttering, smudging or simply adding some lively greenery, it will help us to rid all that no longer serves us; objects or energies, and invite all the positive vibes into our happy and loved environment

Gratitude

We have unlimited power to raise our vibration, manifest and release positive vibes into the universe and all of that can start just by simply reflecting, and appreciating all that we already have… It’s something so simple, yet causes a ripple effect of pure magic. Why would we not add this into our everyday routine? No-one spends 5 minutes writing down all that they’re grateful for and walks away unhappy… After all, what we focus on will always cause an attraction of things that match it. So let’s match joy with joy, gratitude with more to be grateful for. It’s limitless, but it starts within.

Getting out into nature

Nature is a high vibrational environment so it can simultaneously nourish and recharge our soul. It’s ever-changing with the seasons, and is a gentle reminder that we too we will go through different stages of growth, but remain perpetually beautiful. Whether it’s a walk through the mountains, watching the sun set on the ocean, dancing in the rain or just a moment of solitude on the grass, it’s going to make for a happy soul.

Prayer

This is going to look different for everyone, but regardless of religion, prayer opens us up to another world… It helps us to feel connected to a power larger than ourselves, and allows us to explore our thoughts freely. This type of reflection in harmony with a higher connection often puts things into perspective and helps us to re-prioritise what is most important.

There are so many ways to practise spiritual self-care, and the best part is, there’s no right or wrong. The whole point of this type of self-care, is that it is just for you, the real you, your highest self.

Our bodies and our minds will change, grow and age, but our soul… that is our magic, that is our home, and that is forever… We must take care of it.
